Copper Moss

This copper moss is commonly found blanketing small areas On trees.
It is short, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps, and is very robust.
When mature, emerald heart-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release dozens of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
