Cinnamon

This small fruit tree grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 19 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, curved trunk covered in ridged, gray bark, and inside, the very dense wood is yellow.

The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with sparse amounts of small, sickle shaped leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are dark brown and red.

In early spring, it produces hundreds of large, olive blossoms with long, tapering petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have an intensely strong scent that smells like cinnamon.

In mid-summer it produces tiny, long, straight fruit. The fuzzy peach skin is thin and inedible, and the slightly crunchy peach flesh is spicy and oily. The caramel seeds are small and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
