Copperwood

This small tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 607 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a slender, angular trunk covered in delicate, wrinkled, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the hard wood is copper-coloured.

The small handful of branches are very long and thick and are covered with very large amounts of covered in fine hairs, large, perforated leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are found in violet and grey varieties.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of giant, turquoise blossoms with long, narrow petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a weak scent that smells like burning wood.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, blue berries.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
