Blood Red Moss

This blood red and beige moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In marshes.
It is big, growing up to 9 inches (23 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps, and is slightly light; it takes a lot of damage when trodden on.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release millions of spores.
