Bloodvine

Shrub type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This big shrub grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for around 10 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several very thick, crooked stems covered in smooth, light gray bark, and the wood inside is white.

The branches trail down across the ground with dozens of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of miniature, finger-like, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are blood red at the bottom and lime with turquoise patches at the top, delicate and clammy.

In mid-summer it produces balls of giant, slate blossoms with spear shaped petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have a faint scent that smells like wet dog.

In early winter very large triangular fruits ripen. The hairy florescent purple skin is peel-able and edible when boiled; it is sweet, and the soft olive flesh is sour and oily. The green seed is large and sits at the end of the fruit.

Several parts of the moss have medicinal properties.
It is suitable for making paper
Ivy often grows along the trunk.
