Crimson Fern Moss

This red moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas On trees.
It is average-sized, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps, and is slightly resilient.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release thousands of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.
