Copperbell

This small flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its copper stem is thin and splits into numerous branching stems halfway up, and the tiny, yellow-green leaves are spear shaped with smooth edges. 21 leaves grow at the base of the stem.

6 to 10 small flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of intense green. The flower head is largely flat with several widely spaced narrow petals. They detach easily.

It has a strong scent that smells like vanilla, and it has a modest amount of pollen. It is a self-pollinator, but is also particularly attractive to butterflies.
