Crimson Succulent

This small cactus grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall. It splits randomly along the body to form 4 wispy stems. Each stem is green, and is covered in hundreds of flexible black spines. The cuboid body is burgundy, and is covered in thick bunches of rigid crimson spines.

It is very fast growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with red petals and a yellow center, grow at the top, reappearing once every 9 years. The flower head is largely flat with 21 widely spaced round-tipped petals. It has a strong scent that smells like faeces.

The cactus's skin is extremely thick, the silver flesh is waxy, and the purple sap is thin.
