Gray Spike Cactus

This small cactus grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall. The spear shaped stem is gray or grey, and is covered in hundreds of rigid cream spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 8 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with alternating petals of lime and orange, with a purple central disk grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a tube with 23 raised, round-tipped petals. It has an intense scent that smells like onion.

The cactus's skin is extremely thick, the caramel flesh is waxy, and the lime sap is thin.
