Crimson Puff Grass

Grass type: Annual (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This average-sized, green grass grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The pleated stalks grow in thick clumps that are strong and tough.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, crimson puff.

During the mid-summer, it produces lots of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with plenty of tiny grains.

All parts of the grass are edible.
It can flourish even in standing water.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
