Emerald Pine

This short tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives seemingly forever, with many known specimen being tens of thousands of years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a branched, wonky trunk covered in hard, rough, light brown bark, and inside, the soft wood is pale brown-grey.

The numerous branches are short, rigid and upright, with hundreds of twigs covered with small amounts of large, emerald needles. The needles themselves are pliable.

In late summer it produces small, crimson, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
