Azureberry Tree

This big fruit tree grows up to 42 feet (12.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 27 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, slanted trunk covered in waxy, gray bark, and inside, the soft wood is pale brown.

The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with large amounts of tiny, fan-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are cream with black tips.

In early spring, it produces thousands of tiny, silver blossoms with 9 flame-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have a fairly strong scent that smells like citrus.

In mid-summer it produces small, oblong fruit. The leathery azure skin is delicate and sour, and the slightly crunchy purple flesh is salty and powdery. The light brown seeds are tiny and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
