Caramel

Flower type: Perennial (Sheds its leaves in winter)

This enormous flower grows up to 9.4 feet (2.9 meters) tall. Its caramel or turquoise stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 3 and are very thick and straight, and split into dozens of branching stems halfway up, and the miniature, yellow-green leaves are very thick with smooth edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

6 to 9 giant flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 77 cm (30.3 inches) wide, with petals that are generally light orange; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is shaped like a bowl with 41 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. They are sturdy.

It has a delicate scent that smells like apple, and it has excessive amounts of pollen, but it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to a specific species.

It grows well in the sun and full shade.
The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
