Copperbell

This short caudiciform grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall. The wispy stem is moss green, and is covered in sharp spines. It has a slanted, slender, dark brown trunk atop a slender block of smooth, exposed roots. The branches are thin and pale orange or pink and trail down to the ground.

The rounded-edged, pleated leaves are a shade of moss green that gradient shifts to copper at the top. They are sturdy, and detach easily.

It is steady-growing, taking 22 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are white in the center, olive in the middle and purple at the edges grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is largely flat with 32 raised round-tipped petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like ashes.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the dark grey flesh is smooth, and the copper sap is thin and can cause blindness if consumed.
