Bluebell

This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 67 feet (20.4 meters) tall. The thick stem is pink-red, and is dotted with small dark brown spines. It has a crooked, thick, slate trunk atop a very thick mess of silky, exposed roots. The branches are thick and silver or pale orange and are short, rigid and upright.

The wavy-edged, fan-like leaves are blue and amber. They are tough, but do not detach easily.

It is quick growing, taking 5 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are generally azure; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour, grow at the top, reappearing after 8 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a cup with 4 raised, narrow petals. It has an intense scent that smells like a damp log.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the blue flesh is slimy, and the violet sap is thin.
