Copperbell Bush

This average-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for around 33 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous flexible, twisting stems covered in fine, rough, brown-green speckled bark, and the wood inside is mahogany-coloured.

The branches are very long and thin with thousands of twigs that and are covered with sparse amounts of tiny, umbrella-shaped, leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are found in copper and brown varieties, resilient and soft.

It produces handfuls of giant, deep orange flowers with perforated petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a faint scent that smells like cinnamon. In late autumn it forms largedark grey aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
