Violetberry

This short fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 31 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, straight trunk covered in thin, wrinkled, dark gray bark, and inside, the flexible wood is yellow.

The branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with sparse amounts of tiny, asymmetrical leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are either peach or azure, with orange dots.

In early spring, it produces hundreds of large, violet blossoms with wide petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a delicate scent that smells like chocolate.

In early autumn it produces , 4 pointed fruit. The hairy cream skin is stretchy and edible when cooked; it is spicy, and the slightly crunchy blood red flesh is extremely bitter and sticky. The orange seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
