Burgundy Creeper

This small creeper is a very fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 9 feet (2.7 meters) and growing as high as 128 feet (39.0 meters).

It takes 2 months for the burgundy stems to mature, by which point they sometimes have a diameter of 2 cm (0.8 inches) and are rough and prickly.

The flame-shaped, leathery leaves reach up to 3 inches (8 cm) in length. They are olive on the sides and peach at the center, and have serrated edges.

During late spring, the creeper produces hundreds of small caramel flowers.
