Bloodvine

This short flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its vivid green or blood red stem is very thin and straight, and the small, lime green leaves are pleated with irregular edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.

Several small flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 1 cm (0.4 inches) wide, with petals that are generally amber; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight sphere. They detach easily.

It has a fairly strong scent that smells like a woman, and it has very little pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator.
