Azurefruit Tree

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 18 feet (5.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 26 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, wavy trunk covered in waxy, dark brown bark, and inside, the very light wood is copper-coloured.

The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with sparse amounts of giant, sickle shaped leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are yellow-green with white tips.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of giant, cream blossoms with broad, flat petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are sturdy and have a powerful scent that smells like mint.

In early summer it produces , wide fruit. The hairy azure skin is stretchy and inedible, and the slightly crunchy brown flesh is sweet and very dry. The silver seeds are large and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.
