Copperfern

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for around 96 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has several flexible, wavy stems covered in thick, silky, dark green bark, and the wood inside is brown.

The branches are long and thin with dozens of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of large, perforated, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are solid copper with slate splotches, light and waxy.

In mid-spring it produces many clusters of medium-sized, brilliant green flowers with fan-like petals. They fall easily and have a strong scent that smells like chocolate.
