Copper

This short caudiciform grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The needle-like stem is green, and is covered in dozens of flexible slate spines. The angular, lime trunk can grow to as much as 2 feet (61.0 cm) in diameter at the top. Its yellow-green branches trail down to the ground and start growing at the base the stem.

The copious amounts of jagged-edged, thin leaves are solid pastel red or lime, with purple splotches. They are light, and do not detach easily.

It is very fast growing, taking 8 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with petals that are copper on the underside and ashy blue on the top grows at the top, reappearing after 4 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of 31 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight tube. It has a delicate scent that smells like rotten eggs.

The caudiciform's skin is tough, the black flesh is soft, and the lilac sap is thin.
