Aquamarine Succulent

This small cactus grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. It splits partway up the body to form 6 very thin stems. Each stem is black or aquamarine, and is dotted with small grey spines.

It is fast growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with solid green petals decorated with deep red lines and a azure central disk grows at the top, reappearing after 4 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a cube made up of many widely spaced, narrow petals. It has a soft scent that smells like damp.

The cactus's skin is very thick, the hazel flesh is rubbery, and the vivid yellow sap is thin.
