Copperleaf

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 12 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has many flexible, wonky stems covered in knobbly, light gray bark, and the wood inside is pine-coloured.

The branches trail down across the ground with thousands of twigs that and are covered with thick bunches of miniature, stiff, pointed, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of orange that gradient shifts to copper at the top, flexible and smooth.

It produces thick bunches of tiny, bronze flowers with 7 shield-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like cinnamon. In late winter it forms largepastel green aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
