Burgundy Vine

This average-sized vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 46 feet (14.0 meters) and growing as high as 158 feet (48.2 meters). It prefers to grow on rock formations.

It takes 5 years for the burgundy stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 5 inches (13 cm) and are rough and fibrous.

The asymmetrical, leathery leaves reach up to 1.4 feet (43 cm) in length. They are either slate or turquoise, with yellow dots, and have serrated edges.

During late spring, the vine produces lots of colossal lilac flowers, and during the early summer, after flowering, it produces a few very large seed pods.
