Burgundy Ashvine

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This average-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for around 33 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous slender, angular stems covered in paper-thin, rough, burgundy bark, and the wood inside is pale brown-grey.

The branches are short, thin and wispy with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of small, very thick, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of green that gradient shifts to peach at the top, resistant and smooth.

It produces copious amounts of medium-sized, lilac flowers with long, narrow petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have an intense scent that smells like ashes. In mid-autumn it forms medium-sizedpurple aril (seeds with fleshy covers).


It is very rare outside of a particular area.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
