Bluebell

This short caudiciform grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The pleated stem is sky blue, and is covered in brittle red spines. It has a straight, flat, red trunk atop a very thick block of cracked, exposed roots. The branches are flat and green and are very short and thin.

The smooth-edged, fan-like leaves are grey at the bottom and yellow with white edges at the top. They are flimsy, and take some effort to detach.

It is steady-growing, taking 19 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are either turquoise or black, with a yellow center, grow at the top, reappearing after 10 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of 11 petals in raised layers. It has a delicate scent that smells like petrol.

The caudiciform's skin is delicate, the hazel flesh is rubbery, and the aquamarine sap is thin.
