Violet Creeper

Climbing plant type: Creeper (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This colossal creeper is a slow growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 3,456 feet (1,053.4 meters) and growing as high as 982 feet (299.3 meters).

It takes 5 years for the yellow stems to mature, by which point they can reach a diameter of 9 inches (23 cm) and are rough and woody.

The very narrow and elongated, soft leaves reach up to 2.7 feet (81 cm) in length. They are solid violet with magenta edges, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the creeper produces many balls of tiny olive flowers.


The sap causes itchiness of the skin
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
Several parts of the fruit tree have medicinal properties.
