Violet

This small flower grows up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. Its pink-red stem is very thin, and the tiny, gray leaves are long, narrow with serrated edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Several small flowers grow in drooping bunches like grapes. The flowers are 4 cm (1.6 inches) wide, with petals that are either violet or sky blue, with a yellow center. The flower head is made up of 39 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight star. They fall easily.

It has a soft scent that smells like apple, and it has lots of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator, but is also visited by a small species of bird.
