Bloodvine

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This average-sized caudiciform grows up to 43 feet (13.1 meters) tall. The spear shaped stem is lime green, and is covered in dozens of rigid vivid orange spines. It has a curved, thick, blood red trunk atop a bulbous stilted platform of cracked, exposed roots. The branches are thick and red and trail down across the ground.

The smooth-edged, sickle shaped leaves are olive at the bottom and peach with copper edges at the top. They are rigid, and take little effort to detach.

It is very slow growing, taking 22 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are bronze on the edges and lilac at the center grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 10 petals. It has a strong scent that smells like meat.

The caudiciform's skin is thick, the dark grey flesh is leathery, and the washed-out purple sap is thin.

All of it is said to be part of one single, massive plant.
