Climbing Caramelvine

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 45 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has many wide, straight stems covered in delicate, knobbly, dark gray bark, and the wood inside is silver.

The branches trail down to the ground with dozens of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of large, needle-like, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are solid caramel with turquoise edges, tough and crispy.

In early spring it produces handfuls of giant, caramel blossoms with 2 pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like cinnamon.

In late winter large finger-like fruits ripen. The crispy gold skin is peel-able and sour, and the slightly crunchy cyan flesh is salty and sticky. The green seed is large and sits at the top of the fruit.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
All of it is said to be part of one single, massive plant.
Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
