Blue Spine Succulent
Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This average-sized caudiciform grows up to 28 feet (8.5 meters) tall. The sickle shaped stem is moss green, and is covered in thousands of fine, lime, hair-like spines. The stumpy, green trunk can grow to as much as 28 feet (8.5 meters) in diameter. Its light blue branches are long and thick.
The ripped-edged, very thin leaves are found in light brown and crimson varieties. They are sturdy, but take some effort to detach.
It is fast growing, taking 3 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with pink petals that gradient shift to sky blue on the outer edge. The central disk is peach grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is largely flat with 30 widely spaced narrow petals. It has a weak scent that smells like cherry.
The caudiciform's skin is delicate, the blue flesh is rough, and the beige sap is thin.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
The stems are covered in large spikes.
