Carmine Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This average-sized cactus grows up to 57 feet (17.4 meters) tall. The tapering stem is pink-red, and is covered in thick bunches of flexible olive spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 23 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with petals that are cyan on the edges and intense red at the center grow at the top, reappearing after 7 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 30 curved petals. It has an intense scent that smells like roses.

The cactus's skin is thick, the caramel flesh is rough, and the orange sap is thin.
