Aquamarine Starflower

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.3 feet (41 cm) tall. Its gray-green stem is very thin and straight, and the huge, green leaves are thick with ripped edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Lots of small flowers grow in a bunch at the end of the stem. The flowers are 13 cm (5.1 inches) wide, with aquamarine petals and a lime central disk. The flower head is made up of several petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight star. They fall easily.

It has a strong scent that smells like fermented fruit, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by one species of insect in particular.
