Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In heathlands, and On rotten logs.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they are exceptionally hardy, and is very robust; it can easily endure flooding and draughts.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release thousands of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
