Bronzeleaf Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 183 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.
It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in waxy, light gray bark, and inside, the dense wood is light brown.
The small bunches of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with handfuls of soft, large, very narrow and elongated leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are bronze and dark brown.
In early spring, it produces dozens of medium-sized, florescent orange blossoms with 8 pointed petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a soft scent that smells like roses.
In late summer it forms tiny, brown, winged seeds that float and land far away.
The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
