Copperflower

This short flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its yellow stems grow in bunches of 3 and are very thick and straight, and the huge, copper leaves are very thin with irregular edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Lots of giant flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 19 cm (7.5 inches) wide, with yellow petals that gradient shift to magenta on the outer edge. The central disk is dark brown. The flower head is shaped like a tube made up of 11 widely spaced, round-tipped petals. They are hardy.

It has a delicate scent that smells like petrol, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator, but is also visited by a small species of bird.
