Crimsonzigzag

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This small tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 122 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, curved trunk covered in fine, smooth, light brown bark, and inside, the very hard wood is gray.

The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with small amounts of smooth, miniature, long, narrow leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are either hazel, or sky blue with crimson zig-zags.

In early spring, it produces clusters of tiny, lime blossoms with needle-like petals. They are hardy and have the faintest scent that smells like chocolate.

In late summer it forms giant, yellow, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.

It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
