Silvervine

This giant flower grows up to 14.9 feet (4.5 meters) tall. Its green stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 4 and are very thin and straight, and split into numerous branching stems at the base, and the tiny, silver leaves are long, tapering with smooth edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

6 to 11 giant flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 30 cm (11.8 inches) wide, with petals that are slate at the sides and light brown at the center. The flower head is largely flat with 52 raised narrow petals. They are hardy.

It has a strong scent that smells like vanilla, and it has an average amount of pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.
