Brown Petal Flower

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.1 feet (33 cm) tall. Its moss green stem is very thin, and the large, yellow-green leaves are stiff, pointed with irregular edges. 23 leaves grow at the base of the stem.

4 to 9 tiny flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of brown. The flower head is made up of 17 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cube. They are very delicate.

It has a powerful scent that smells like coconut, and it has copious amounts of pollen,but it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects , but is also visited by a small species of bird.
