Cyan Petal Flower
Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in its leaves)This small flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its blue stem is thick and splits into several branching stems three quarters of the way up, and the small, brown leaves are V-shaped with smooth edges. 9 leaves grow at the base of the stem.
Each stem splits 1 to 5 times; a single tiny flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 9 cm (3.5 inches) wide, with alternating petals of gentle orange and cyan, with a white central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 31 curved petals. They are sturdy.
It has a fairly strong scent that smells like blood, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind.
It can flourish even in standing water.
