Copperfern

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 132 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has dozens of long and flexible, wavy stems covered in waxy, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is mahogany-coloured.

The branches are long, thin and wispy that and are covered with copious amounts of giant, circular, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are hazel and gold, robust and fuzzy.

In early spring it produces handfuls of large, lime flowers with finger-like petals with a tube-like floral cup. They fall easily and have a fairly strong scent that smells like chocolate.
