Copperfern

This short caudiciform grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The thin stem is emerald, and is covered in thick sheets of flexible copper spines. The straight, silver trunk can grow to as much as 2 feet (61.0 cm) in diameter at the top. Its brown branches are tall, rigid and upright and start growing at the base the stem.

The thick bunches of smooth-edged, perforated leaves are solid dark green or gold, with cyan streaks. They are sturdy, and take some effort to detach.

It is steady-growing, taking 3 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are gold on the edges and silver at the center grow at the top, reappearing once every 10 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 60 petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like cigarette smoke.

The caudiciform's skin is rock-hard, the violet flesh is rough, and the dark brown sap is thin.
