Amber Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)This short tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 322 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a flexible, straight trunk covered in thin, wrinkled, brown and grey bark, and inside, the flexible wood is white with black speckles.
The sparse amount of branches are very short, thin and wispy and are covered with handfuls of waxy, large, perforated leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are amber on the sides and blood red at the center.
In late summer it forms giant, silver, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.
The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
It usually houses a colony of beneficial insects.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
