Burgundy Fireflower

This massive flower grows up to 10.2 feet (3.1 meters) tall. Its green stem is thin, and the small, burgundy leaves are light moss green on the underside and are fan-like with jagged edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from the base up to about halfway.

Each stem splits 4 to 7 times; a single giant flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 21 cm (8.3 inches) wide, with petals that are generally gold; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 30 petals. They are sturdy.

It has an intense scent that smells like bonfire smoke, and it has lots of pollen,but it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.
