Creamy Coconut
Flower type: Annual (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This small flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its brown stems grow in bunches of 4 and are thin with a curved tip, and the huge, yellow-green leaves are very thick with smooth edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.
Two medium-sized flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 14 cm (5.5 inches) wide, with petals that are muted yellow on the underside and cream on the top. The flower head is largely flat with 35 raised narrow petals. They are hardy.
It has a faint scent that smells like coconut, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird.
It is suitable for making strong rope
