Brown Spiral Moss

This brown moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas In moorlands.
It is short, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is overwhelmingly rigid; it struggles more than most during dry spells.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release dozens of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.
