This cream and yellow-green moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In moorlands.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches, and is extremely durable.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release thousands of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.

It releases hallucinogenic smoke when burned.
