Sapphire Maple

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This average-sized tree grows up to 8 meters (26.2 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 79 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, wavy trunk covered in very thick, ridged, dark brown bark, and inside, the very light wood is black with white speckles.

The small clumps of branches are very short and thin and are covered with small amounts of sticky, giant, broad, flat leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are solid pastel orange or dark blue, with cyan lines.

In late summer it forms tiny, grey aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
every part of the caudiciform is very toxic.
It can survive a long time without water.
