Burgundy Grass

Grass type: Perennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short, burgundy grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The thin stalks grow in thin clumps that are resilient.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a tiny, violet spikelet.

During the mid-summer, it produces lots of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with a modest amount of small grains.

The sap causes itchiness of the skin
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
